Sergey Redkin

Winner of international competition

Sergey Redkin was born in Krasnoyarsk. At six years old he started taking piano lessons at the Krasnoyarsk music college, then continued his education at secondary special music school at the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory. In 2009 – 2015 he took lessons at the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory under Alexander Sandler. In 2002 – 2012 he had been studying composition under Alexander Mnatsakanyan. In 2011the Saint Petersburg Music House sent him to the International Piano Academy Lake Como (Italy) for training, and there he studied alongside Dmitry Bashkirov, Peter Frankl, Fou Ts'ong and other. He is currently passing his postgraduate study at the St.-Petersburg state conservatory.

In 2008 became an award winner at The Moscow H. Neuhaus Festival, and then in 2010 he won the III prize at the International Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland. In 2012 he won the I prize at the III International Maj Lind Piano Competition in Helsinki, then in 2013 he won the I prize at the VI International Prokofiev Competition in St.-Petersburg. In 2015 he won the III prize and the bronze medal at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.

He is constantly touring in Russia and abroad, performing at the best venues of Moscow and St.-Petersburg, such as Grand Hall and Small Hall of the St.-Petersburg Academic Philharmonia, the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky theatre, the Grand hall of the St.-Petersburg State Academic Capella, Glazunov concert hall of the Saint Petersburg conservatory, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, giving solo concerts at various halls in Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Poland, Finland, Sweden.

He cooperates with the symphonic orchestra of the Mariinsky theatre, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg, State Academic Symphony Orchestra “Evgeny Svetlanov”.

In 2016 he visited New York, Mexico city and Paris (with the Mariinsky orchestra under Valery Gergiev), toured to Portugal and Israel. In January 2017 he made a solo concert at the Variety Theatre in Monaco.

Among his engagement for the season 2017-2018 one can find performances with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra under Pavel Kogan in Moscow, London Philharmonia Orchestra under Karl-Heinz Steffens in Catalonia, concerts in D. D. Shostakovich St.-Petersburg State Philharmonia, Brucknerhaus in Linz, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Brussels.
